Hi, I’m Sadaf! I’ve been a Research Assistant at the Wheeler Lab since September 2022, all while diving into my master’s degree in Computer Science. I did my bachelor’s in Computer Engineering which was the place I got excited about Machine Learning. Post-graduation, I worked as an AI developer for a while and eventually I applied for University of Arizona to work on Computational Biology.
My passion lies in the intersection of Machine Learning and Genomics. My thesis is a thrilling ride into the world of deep learning models for risk prediction, leveraging genomic data from the All of Us Research Program.
What truly excites me is collaborating with people from diverse backgrounds on interdisciplinary projects. It’s a constant source of inspiration and learning.
Outside the lab, you can find me moving the dumbbells at the gym, soaking in the vibes at concerts, exploring nature, or indulging in lively discussions at book clubs (yes, I know, quite the eclectic mix!).
