Kaitlin Carey

Kaitlin is a Master’s student in the Computer Science department at the University of Montana.

During her graduate studies Kaitlin has worked on 3 projects:

  1. Validating the presence of novel dual coding exons and alternative reading frames. Check out the paper.
  2. Assessing the reliability of current transposable element annotation methods (manuscript coming soon).
  3. Developing polyA. polyA is an adjudicator for annotating more complex regions of the genome (manuscript in prep, until then checkout the poster).

Kaitlin was born in Bozeman, Montana and after moving around a bit settled on Missoula as her home. Kaitlin has a BS in Biochemistry from the University on Montana. She has lived here for almost 10 years and loves everything Missoula.

A few things Kaitlin enjoys the most are camping, gardening, trail running with her dog Kleo, and hiking with her sisters.
